Will definitely give them a second chance and will update this review accordingly.Campus Dining operates two All Access dining halls serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snacks. We typically visit a restaurant at least 3 times before writing it off. But there are 2 other choices downtown that are currently much better if you can catch one of them open. The atmosphere is great, staffing issues aside our server did the best she could, and the location is great. In conclusion, we really wanted to like this place. This wasn't an issue because the toast was so over done. There were only 2 jelly packs for our table of five. Get rid of the stuff you are using and replace it with real butter pats or whipped butter.ī. The "butter" spread and table condiments:Ī. The grits were so cool that the "butter" spread wouldn't melt.ĥ. Mine had "skinned over" portions that had to be from the edge of the pot in the kitchen.not particularly appetizing. The words "Yankee" and "grits" don't belong together in a sentence (calm down, it's a joking reference to the menu listing!) To me, the grits were under seasoned, over cooked, and barely warm. It ranged from soft to burnt in about 8 inches. The bacon: On my plate, one piece had the entire range of doneness represented. Also no discernable seasoning on the eggs.ģ. All 3 of us ordered over-medium fried eggs (soft, slightly runny yolks.) All of the eggs were well over cooked with firm fully cooked crumbly yokes. Much of the toast was so over-toasted that we couldn't eat it.Ģ. However this was dark dark brown to black. Specific to the Triple Deuce (nothing was piping hot):ġ. I would change to a more traditional pancake and offer it with an egg and some bacon. I'm not so sure "the juice is worth the squeeze" on this. We were warned ordering this would take longer to cook.and it did. They are HUGE and there are 2 on a plate. I'm not a fan of this type of pancake which is more of a light biscuit consistency. Attention Coffee Break Cafe: you misspelled "Indigo" Bakery on your menu (you have "Indego" printed.) This item is sourced from the bakery across the street and was the highlight of our meal (sorry.) Indigo Bakery puts out some of the best breakfast pastries in town so good choice going with them. Three of us had coffee, two had sweet tea.ġ. We ordered three Triple Deuces, a Pancake Breakfast, and a cinnamon roll. It seems they may have been short staffed. They weren't super busy at around 9:45am so our party of 5 was seated right away. On our Saturday outing our 2 go-to places were closed (staffing issues, one in Pawleys, the other in Gtown) so we opted to try Coffee Break Cafe. We are locals (Pawleys Island) with family visiting from out of town.
